Weather Data

The Weather Data asset allows you to display current weather conditions on your website.

  1. Select the Weather Data asset from the New Content menu of the Admin Bar.


  1. The “Add Weather Data” screen will open.

  2. Enter a title in the “Title” field.

  3. The “Menu Title” is the title as it appears in the navigation. You can leave this blank and WebGUI will provide one for you (by default WebGUI will use the “Title”).

  4. The “URL” field can also be left blank and WebGUI will generate a URL for you.

  5. Enter a brief description of the asset’s content in the “Description” field.

  6. Enter the location you would like to display the weather for in the “Default Locations(s)” field. Locations may be entered using city,state, zip code, or city,country. You may enter more than one location; put a carriage return after each.


  1. You must register with for the free Weather XML Data Feed. Click on the link at the bottom of this screen to register, then enter the licenseKey and partnerId you receive in the labeled fields.

  2. Enter your display settings in the “Display” tab.


  1. Hide from navigation?: if toggled to Yes, the menu title will not appear in the navigation.

  2. Open in new window?: if toggled to Yes, the asset will open in a new browser window if selected from the navigation.

  3. Display the title?: if toggled to No, the asset’s title will not appear on the page.

  4. Style Template: select a style in which to view the asset. If the asset is part of a layout asset, the layout asset’s style will be used instead.

  5. Printable Style: if the page is made printable a pared down printer friendly version will be made available.

  6. Template: template for viewing the weather conditions.

  1. Enter your security settings in the “Security” tab. These are the standard security fields.

  1. The Metadata tab is the standard Metadata screen common amongst all assets. If you need to handle metadata for the purposes of content profiling you can do so here.

  1. When all properties have been entered, click save to display the weather conditions on your site.
