I didn't find anything explaining this, and perhaps it's a no brainer, but I thought I'd document it anyway.  =)

Templates have namespaces, and often you'll want to create a new namespace for your newly written asset or wobject. (namespaces aren't automatically created when your new asset is configured)

So when you are ready to create your template, The "namespace" property field is found on the "Properties" tab. Note, the drop list only lists existing namespaces. You can create your new namespace by typing a new name in the text box right to the drop list. (it will ignore the selection in the drop list if you type somethign in the text box)
