For me, cooler or better or whatever, git has one killer feature. It lets me do version control locally, so I don't screw up my own work.
This happens to me all the time:
I'm working on a large commit. In there, I typically overwrite something by accident. Since there's no version control, my work is gone. git would let me make lots and lots of small, file specific atomic commits, and then commit back to the main repo (because PB's repo would always be the main repo for wG even in a decentralized setup).
