For fun I started working on a WebGUI/WGDev plugin for Padre (an open source Perl IDE).I've attached a couple of screenshots of the proof-of-concept, showing a user accessing wgd's edit feature. For those of you not familiar with 'wgd edit', it lets you edit a template via a text editor rather than via the webgui web interface. I've also added simple support for 'wgd package'. Right now it asks you to enter the asset spec manually, but one idea I have is for it to populate a side-panel with a clickable asset tree, from which you can choose wgd actions such edit, package, etc.. Another nice feature would be to build a wre control panel with red/green lights for each of the services, with options to start/stop/restart. Ideas? Padre is running a plugin contest at the moment, so I thought I'd start fooling around and see what I can come up with. They accept team entries so let me know if you're interested. Awesome idea!Being able to develop WG site from within Padre, even if web user interface is quite nice, would be great for hardcore developers. And it would as well be good PR for WG. h. |
