Hi All, One thing a couple of developers in my place were interested in was having an asset history tab in the asset edit page. I think this would be a fairly straightforward addition; just links through to the version tag, no facility to rollback the tag from the history page. Has this been considered in the past? Would anyone else be interested in this sort of facility? Thanks Kevin |

It's already there. You can see the last 5 revisions of any asset on the right hand menu while editing it. I think partially because it is on the right hand side and user focus is on the left hand and top menu, and partially because there is no indication of what it is for. Even when I click on it there is no indication that I have selected a previous version for revision. I suppose I am also looking for a bit more in terms of functionality. I wouldn't mind being able to see the full history, name is also important if checking previous changes or requests for clarification are required, I think as well if users can edit previous versions in the fashion used here it would be useful to be able to have a message or indication that a previous revision was being edited. Dunno about the last one, maybe something like: Editing Revision X.X from DD MON YYYY HH:MM:SS As additional header items if the version being edited is not the most resent version... mind you I guess if it is being edited it is the most recent version. Maybe just something to provide feedback to the user that a change to what is being edited has occurred. Just some thoughts. I might go ahead and see if I can create a History tab. I think the team I am working with would be inclined to use it and I can make a patch available. Kevin |

Maybe you have already looked at this as well, but have you shown your developers the Revisions screen accessed through the class icon of the asset toolbar (icon on the far left of the toolbar) in the inline editing view, and through the More link to the left of an asset's title in the asset manager? This provides a list of each committed version of an asset, the date committed and user who committed it, and allows you to view a specific revision. You can then manage and edit that specific revision. I've attached screenshots in case you didn't check this out.

The user interface for this will be changing somewhat in the upcoming versions of WebGUI (probably late this year) as we introduce an ajax-based admin console. But I'd still welcome the patch.

For the ajax based admin console:will you be using yui-ext still? Will the version be upgraded to the current ext-1.0.1a stable release?I've been spending some time doing some work towards this goal, I'd like to help if I could understand how/when/where. -Isaac On Jun 22, 2007, at 2:28 PM, <jt@plainblack.com> wrote: we introduce an ajax-based admin console. |

Yes, YUI and YUI-ext. And yes, both will be upgraded to the latest stable versions.
