The library's holdings comprise nearly one million items, making it one of the largest liberal arts college libraries in the state of Illinois. As the importance of Internet access and the library's use of electronic resources increased, the function of the website focused on accessing our electronic resources. WebGui allows us to easily resuse our existing database structure based on the MyLibrary database. The ability to manage database connectivity, query the MyLibrary database, and easily display results are the most attractive features in WebGui. The querying and display of the data, for instance, is little more work than writing an SQL query. WebGui also has a framework for building reuseable assets such as forums, FAQ, link lists, and other third-party developer assets. We are currently looking forward to using the new Wiki asset in WebGui 7.4.
