Best WebGUI Navigation Template


Plain Black will be accepting submissions for the best WebGUI Navigation Template contribution.  Details of this WCC are as follows:

When:

  • Entry deadline is Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 12:00pm CDT.
  • Entries are being accepted now.

Submission: entries will be submitted via the Packages area of the Get Add Ons section of webgui.org.

Format:

  • The entry must be coded in XHTML strict.
  • It has to work across Firefox 2.0, IE 6, IE 7 and Safari. Anything else is a bonus.
  • Needs to be able to handle at least two levels of depth.
  • If any Javascript is used it must not return any errors.
  • It has to be USEFUL. A navigation that only looks pretty but is not functional is useless.
  • Make sure you include screenshots and any relevant supporting material we may need to check out your work.

Judging:

  • Entries will be reviewed by the Plain Black Staff and the top 5 entries will be selected.
  • A poll will be put up for the community to decide which of the top 5 is the winner.
  • Bonus points for creativity, use of macros, ease of customization...let those creative juices flow!

Rules:

  • Anyone, with the exception of Plain Black staff, may participate.
  • There is no limit to the number of entries one person can make.
  • All entries must be received by Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 12:00pm CDT to be considered.
  • Plain Black will select the top 5 submissions and create a poll.
  • Only one vote is allowed per person.
  • Your entire submission must be licensed in a manner that is compatible with WebGUI.  Generally that means GPL but if you want to use a different license or have questions then email me (kristi@plainblack.com) and we'll get it worked out.

Prizes:

1st Place - $1000.00 Cash, 20,000 Karma points, and a Plain Black schwag bag.
2nd Place – 10,000 Karma Points and a Plain Black schwag bag
3rd Place - 5000 Karma Points
In addition, each submission will garner 500 Karma points.  Note, the submission must be a meaningful contribution as determined by Plain Black.
