This weekend I was joined by about 500,000 other people in purchasing iPhones. I wanted one not only because it is cool, but because of the advantage that it offers me: one device to replace laptop, cell phone, camera, and iPod.

As I started playing around with this thing, I realized that a real web browser in a phone, with real javascript support means that it's actually possible that people could start publishing content from the scene of an event, crime, game, or whatever, as it's happening. Granted, people with Blackberry's and Treo's have been able to publish content via email for some time. But with phones getting this kind of functionality, it's legitimate that they could perform all publishing functions right from their phone.

That opens up a whole new arena. And that's definitely something I'll be thinking about strongly as we proceed forward with WebGUI development.
