We'd like search returns to show the pages that a matching asset is on, rather than (or in addition to) a link to the asset itself.
For example, I have a page titled "Red Products" and on that page is an article with introductory text, a second article with a table of red products, a third article with a picture of selected products and perhaps a data form for ordering. If a user enters "apples" into the search box I want them to see a link to the "Red Products" page and not to the article containing the red products.
Response to this request originally posted in the support forum:
"It is possible to retreive the page the asset lives on and make the url to that page (if it exists) available through the UI, but that is not currently a property of the search asset and would need to be a feature enhancement."
Thanks,Andrew
I second this one. There's no reason we'd ever want anything but pages personally, but some way of selecting this would be nice.

To accomplish the above I propose the following:New option in search asset - Search output to return only these Asset classes - this is much like the option 'Limit Asset classes to:' - but instead it limits the output of the search to those classes using the following steps:
Example of use:
User selects Page Layouts and CS Threads as only asset classes returned. Any other objects that have matches will traverse up through their parents until they hit a page layout or thread.

This is necessary. - or atleast if the asset can be open in a new window fine, but if it isn't, the search should return the page that the matching asset is found.. Has this been addresssed? I think it's a bug personally...
