Viewing a previous version of a template is useless as it just shows you the containing asset by default. It is possible to edit the url to change "func=view" to "func=edit" which provides a much more useful interface.

Please update the revisions listing to change the View button for templates, snippets and other non-viewable assets to an Edit button.
