Matrix - admin only modifiable fields  (#34)
Issue
The Matrix wobject allows "maintainers" of the listings in the matrix. Each listing has fields which are defined by the admin. Not all fields necessarily need to be submitted and maintained by the contributor. e.g. a status of the vendor like "gold" or "silver" depending on their independently judged certification or purchased subscriptions. Or it could be a field containing a URL pointing to a page on the webgui site, which we don't want the contributor to modify. A solution would be to add an attribute to each field which designates if the field is modifiable only by the admin. This idea is similar to the data form for email forms, where you can specify if a field is hidden, modifiable, required, etc. The only current workaround is to allow contributors submit their listing but then the admin needs to revert the "maintainer" back to admin., adjust some fields, and keep admin as the maintainer so that the contributors don't give themselves privileges which are not valid, as described above. This defeats the idea of having the listings maintained by the contributors beyond the original submission. Adding this feature would increase the flexibility and functionality of the Matrix. If I put this in the wrong category let me know. It's my first RFE :) Thanks, Peter

well the RFE is in the right place, but if you want to boost the chance/speed  of this being executed, make an account, earn karma by posting on the fora/bug list and add it to your RFE
