At my first MadMongers meeting while sipping a Guinness.

Plain Black offered me consulting work fixing bugs and adding enhancements.

Are you paid to work on WebGUI?

Yes

How much time do you spend on WebGUI?

A few hours everyday. If I'm not at a computer I may be trying to solve something in my head.

What do you think is still missing from WebGUI or the WebGUI Community?

I have a hard time imagining features that would make WG better, that's what users are for.

What keeps you motivated to keep working on WebGUI?

I have to admit that if I was not getting paid I would not have time to work on WG because I would be working somewhere else.

What's WebGUI's killer feature and why?

I think the killer feature is the vast quantity of features. Second would be the security and control a webmaster has over the various assets.

What's WebGUI's greatest weakness and why?

I think WG should be making more use of AJAX techniques.

What makes you work on WebGUI over the competition?

I'd have to say that I really like the building blocks that have evolved inside WG. The core components make it stronger and more useful.

Brilliant?

Have you attended the WebGUI Users Conference?

I stopped in at the hack-a-thon this year to meet some people.

When I get my Gooey doll, he will sit on top of one of my bookshelves

Personal Questions

How would you describe yourself?

I usually try to get something in about being Christian, married with kids, a recovering perfectionist, fanatically one sided yet perpetually balanced. But I usually get distracted by the latest computer thing that's on my mind.

Are you married, dating, or otherwise involved?

Married enough years that I can honestly say I'm happy about it.

Do you have any kids?

3 daughters ( 1.5 teenagers )

Do you have any pets?

1 cat, a few plants and several computers.

If someone visits your area, what's something they must see or do?

The arboretum is a good place for peace and quiet; State Street is a good place for hustle and bustle.

What do you hate?

Having programs break in extremely outrageous ways when I make a simple change.

What do you love?

Fixing outrageous bugs with really simple code changes.

What's the last book you read?

Currently unfinished: JRR Tolkien, The Silmarilion; Mark Twain, Adventures of Huck Finn; Francis Schaeffer, The God Who is There; Benjamin Franklin's autobiography.

What's the last CD/MP3 you bought (or downloaded)?

It's been quite a while... it was one of Rich Mullins, Go Fish, or Billy Joel (or maybe someone altogether different)

What's the last movie you watched?

Valkyrie – a bit intense, but worth watching. It'd be easier to watch if it was fiction.

You're stuck on a train/plane for 6 hours and bored out of your mind, what do you do to amuse yourself?

If I'm tired but can't sleep, I'd watch a movie (sounds like a good time for a Lord of the Rings marathon) otherwise I'd write some really cool tool that would make my life better (can't remember the last time I had 6 hours of [nearly] uninterrupted coding time).

Any last words?

Whew, I made it!
