I have hosting on a debian server and am currentl running modx.  I would like to convert to webgui, although am unsure of which wre to run and the install process.  I have downloaded what I thought was correct and there was not an index file to point my browser to.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  the following is from my ISP:

Platform Type MySQL Version Perl Version PHP Version
Debian
5.0.45
5.8.8
5.2.5

I would advise you to take this one.

Thanks for the reply.  I have downloaded the file, and unzipped.  ALthough unlike any other package I downloaded, there are not multiple files and folders.  Am I to upload this via ftp to my IHP and point my browser at the directory I place it in.  Sorry for the so newbie question, although I have not done an install like that before.

Thanks

Installing the WRE requires someone with command line access on the server, either you or an admin from your provider.

All the instructions you need are included in the WRE tarball in the file docs/install.txt.

There's an online version in the wiki: http://www.webgui.org/install/wiki/wre-installation.

There's also a wiki article on installing the WebGUI on a provider without root access: http://www.webgui.org/use/community-wiki/installing-webgui-without-root-access

Thanks i guess I will be staying with modx.  I like the admin interface for this, although will not be able to get the assistance from my host to accommodate.
