I need to upgrade a really old install, 7.3.22 to be exact. There aren't any stop versions listed prior to 7.5.40. Can anyone shed some light on what could go wrong and which versions i need to go through to get to the latest? Complete backups exists. I've downloaded the stop versions listed and are ready to go through them. I just need to figure out how to get to 7.5.40 safely.
Thanks in advance --- (Edited on 7/13/2010 1:06 am [GMT-0500] by artifex) --- |

The stop versions wiki page is just a summary of what's in the gotchas.txt file. The general rule is that you upgrade to the last stable version in each sub-release before going to the next. so... 7.3.22 In the middle of those, there are changes in module requirements, particularly for JSON. Those may require additional stopping points. Take each step one at a time, and make complete backups of the WebGUI core code, and the site database and uploads. --- (Edited on 7/13/2010 12:36 am [GMT-0700] by perlDreamer) --- |

You're welcome. If you learned anything useful during the upgrade, please feel free to upgrade that wiki page to help the next guy out. --- (Edited on 7/14/2010 12:38 pm [GMT-0700] by perlDreamer) --- |
