In a subscription product, I don't get a possibility to select a payment gateway.

In the database table I also don't find a gateway.

In a wiki article it says to select a shipping option, which I don't find.

So, how do I select a payment gateway (like invoice)?

(or is this a bug?)

Hi Martien,
I'm not totally sure what you mean. Do you mean when going through the checkout process you don't get an option to select a payment gateway.Or do you mean you want to select a payment gateway on the subscription page?
In the latter, that's not possible now (and I don't think will ever be). Users choose the payment gateway in the check out process.
If you do mean in the checkout process there must be something else wrong. I use subscriptions all the time and I haven't had any problems choosinga gateway yet.
Which version are you on and does the webgui log give you any hints?
Cheers,
Rory

Hello Rory,

thank you for this very fast reply!

If you do mean in the checkout process there must be something else wrong.

It happens in the checkout process of a recurring subscription.

In the meantime I tried a one-time subscription and there it's ok.

So my question now is, how to handle a recurring subscription?
Is it right to put it in the cart and to display a payment button in the cart?

And, within this context, what's the role of the subscription codes?

Cheers, Martien

I just got done setting up a site that used subscriptions so i don't think there are any bugs. Make sure that you enabled the drivers, that the groups allowed to use the driver are set and that you're using a driver that supports subscriptions because not all of them do.

Also, please remember that the dev forum is for developing the core.  You should be using the etcetera forum for asking general questions.

Did you set up a recurring subscription?
Since it works on my site by changing from a recurring to a a non recurring subscription, I can't imagine to have wrong settings.
How can I find out if the driver should support this?

Also, please remember that the dev forum is for developing the core.  You should be using the etcetera forum for asking general questions.
Ok. (However, documenting assets/objects and claimed procedures certainly could be part of the core development.)

The site i worked on did indeed use recurring subscriptions. Non-recurring subscriptions are handled by all drivers.  I believe only the itransact driver handles recurring subscriptions.  The other payment gateways support recurring payments, we just don't have code that supports them.
