Sorry that I don't speak German, so you'll have to deal with my English. What could we do to better promote WebGUI to German speaking users? Would it be worth while to have you guys translate our press releases and then get them posted somewhere? Are there any German sites like Freshmeat.net where WebGUI could be listed? |

Sorry that I don't speak German, so you'll have to deal with my English. I think we can make an exception =) What could we do to better promote WebGUI to German speaking users? Would it be worth while to have you guys translate our press releases and then get them posted somewhere? Probably a good idea whenever a new version is released. I have written to four journals so far. All without any reply. As Klaus pointed out, we probably need to advertise with something special. Such as the completion of the German translation or a new release. Being listed on the Heise newsticker would be a good starting point. I herewith volunteer for translating the press release. Are there any German sites like Freshmeat.net where WebGUI could be listed? I am not aware of any potent ones. I assume, we just use the same as everyone else. Presenting at conferences/events is probably more rewarding (as we have discussed already). I was on the phone talking to Mr. Baumann, recently, who is responsible for the exhibition on Open Source Expo 09 in Karlsruhe. He was quite positive about having a WebGUI booth there. But I am still waiting for his official reply. |

Great. We have a press release going out next week on Tuesday along with the release of WebGUI 7.6. I'll send you a copy privately now. http://www.heise.de/open/Die-Zukunft-von-Perl--/artikel/132658/1 It is in German though. I could translate if you'd like.
