Hello all!  I'm volunteering with an organization to host a local religious retreat, and have just learned that the server where the website for the event has been hosted for years, is shutting down. EEK!  On February 6... DOUBLE EEK!

I have deployed various and sundry "easy" web applications - including Wordpress and SMF. But I have no real technical expertise - don't know html, php, mysql or css (other than the names of those).

I plan to simply move the files to a new host server, and hopefully that will save the details, but I don't know anything about the platform the current site is built on, nor have anyone to explain it to me - I think I have to start from scratch.  That's where WebGUI comes in (I think).

It looks like WebGUI is simple enough that I can deploy a site with a little time and attention - but I don't have the time nor the dedicated attention between now and February 6.  I also don't know if WebGUI will do everything we need it to do.  We need the site to be visually attractive, able to host media such as youtube clips and such, able to connect out to fb and twitter, and able to manage event registrations (or to incorporate a module that will).

First - can WebGUI handle event registration (including e-commerce)?  Is there somewhere to look at a demo of the event registration process?

Second - Is WebGUI simple enough for someone like me to use?

Third - is there someone who, for very little money, would be able to convert an existing site into WebGUI and train me in using the site thereafter?

Thanks for your consideration in advance.

You can setup a demo server at demo.webgui.org, and then deploy the Event Management System asset and then add events to it.

WebGUI itself is quite simple.  Several of the assets, however, can be complex because they're very large and powerful.
