I have created a new article template that I want to be the default article template for my entire site. However I can't figure out how to set it as such.

Everytime I create a new article it defaults to using the 'WebGui Default Article' template. I know I can manually change it each time I create a new article on the display tab but I would like to set it so I don't have to and so that less adapt users don't have to worry about this.

I know you can do this with other templates:

For example you can set the style template under 'user function style' on the UI tab under settings. And I know that once you select the page template any new pages created under that will use that page template. But how do you set the article template?

I've searched all over the forums for an answer but can't seem to find anything.

WebGUI Build Version:7.7.30-stable

You can create a Prototype for this. On the metadata tab, change Prototype to Yes. Once it's a prototype it shows up on the "New Content" pane under Prototypes. A prototype lets you pre-configure an asset and use it multiple times.

Alternatively, you can override the field in the config file. See etc/WebGUI.conf.original and look for "assets".

Feel free to ask if you need help with either situation.

Thanks!

Those are both good solutions. Although I do wish there was an easier way to set it besides overriding the config file. Like an option in settings or something.

But again thanks for your quick response.
