If I add a carousel object and add some images, I can't control the height of the carousel. (WG 7.9.8) Sometimes nothing can be seen, other time the height is the same as the height of the first image. Using text only, I don't see anything. Can somebody tell, how to control the layout?

This can be done by changing the template and adding a min-height. Is there somewhere a description of the attributes, which may be changed --- (Edited on 2010-07-09 09:02 [GMT+0200] by martien) --- |

Hi Codeman!
Since you certainly understand the carousel, could you also answer my question about where to start to change the design of the carousel? I need to customize and layout the positions for the buttons. Thanks in advance! --- (Edited on 2010-07-13 23:03 [GMT+0200] by martien) --- |

The YUI docs on the carousel talk about how to customize it. WebGUI is just providing a convenient way to stuff content into the Carousel, so you'll have to add your own markup, CSS and auxiliary javascript. --- (Edited on 7/13/2010 2:09 pm [GMT-0700] by perlDreamer) --- |

Hi, I also want to customize the look of the carousel. I googled the yui documentation, but it's not clear at all what you should do. I tried creating my own css file to try to override some of the css (say, for example, eliminating the dashed border and the padding around the image) but that didn't work. Do I need to copy ALL the css to a new file and link to that? I know you don't specifically support it, but if you could at least point me towards something actually helpful I'd be grateful! --- (Edited on 4/1/2011 7:11 pm [GMT-0500] by troutdream) --- |

OK, so I tried copying the whole skins css file to a new file. I even hunted down the sprite.png file. But it doesn't work properly. The nav is messed up now. http://web648.dark.plainblack.net/ I keep going through the developer docs but I'm not finding anything helpful! --- (Edited on 4/1/2011 7:32 pm [GMT-0500] by troutdream) --- |

Have a look at or study http://solarmodulesnl.com/carousel_skin_sol.css and it's main page. Perhaps it helps making some diffs comparing to the original. As far as I remember, it may help to use styles per id instead of just using classes. --- (Edited on 2011-04-02 19:21 [GMT+0200] by martien) --- |

Hi Martien, Thanks. I've spent hours trying to make adjustments to the css and I'm just not getting anywhere. I tried using your css and changing one thing at a time but I'm not able to change what I want - though clearly it's possible since you've done it so well. At this point I'd be willing to pay someone to fix up the css for me. I can't afford to spend more time guessing and I can't find any resources that are helpful. All I really want to do is eliminate the margin around the image, center the dots underneath the slider and put arrows at the right and left. Thanks! --- (Edited on 4/5/2011 3:29 pm [GMT-0500] by troutdream) --- |

Hi Troutdream, I've spent hours trying to make adjustments to the css So did I... All I really want to do is eliminate the margin around the image, center the dots underneath the slider and put arrows at the right and left. Do you mean the slider under "Privacy Policy"? Perhaps you can send me a design-image with (exact) measures, positions for the buttons and the slices you tried to: webguide at innovate.de --- (Edited on 2011-04-05 23:40 [GMT+0200] by martien) --- |
