I know this is not solving your problem exactly or answering the intention of your question but one solution might be using a virtual machine for WRE/WebGUI on the server. --- (Edited on 10-February-2010 14:28 [GMT+0100] by Klaus) --- |

Well, in the past, there wasn't a wre. So you need an environment with alle the needed modules, you should be able to use wre features. But if you spread stuff, you should check whether the wre root setting covers all that. I would read old WebGUI install help docs for what you want --- (Edited on 10-February-2010 14:47 [GMT+0100] by bartjol) --- |

That situation is unthinkable if the this dot is also true:

Yes there is. You will have to make sure all the compiled-in settings are exactly the same as in the WRE and every perl module is exactly the same. Currently I know of no distribution that will give you the same setup as the WRE would. Koen de Jonge - ProcoliX --- (Edited on 10-February-2010 15:50 [GMT+0100] by koen) --- |

Thanks for your replies! A Virtual Machine could be, but is not (yet) the solution.
Have a try with SUSE 11.2. The bin-package runs, but, as I reported some time before, I didn't manage to compile it.
As long as the normal WebGUI-package runs, I think Perl will be ok and this is no problem at all. In the other packages I didn't find dependancies which should have an impact on the wre/lib-modules.
My question is, which setup really is needed for the things you may do with the sbin-programs. Apart from changing some hard-wired /data/-pathes I didn't find anything (as long as I don't use the libraries and system functions and evtl. link The other way around:
