Our company has a sophisticated web site that includes a list of items that we'd like people to comment on. I've confirmed that WebGUI expects that all of the web content is managed by the framework in order to make use of the built-in applications (like comments & rating), but I don't think we can do that. We're trying to think of another creative solution and wonder if we can represent our list of items inside WebGUI so that we can use the comments and rating functionality, and use key (unique) values to keep the two sites in sync. Does that sound feasible? Is there another solution (I'm wondering about iframes) that comes to mind? I'm imagining that we click on a "comments" link from our site and end up on a WebGUI page that will record/show comments for that particular item. If we can do that then I think we can move forward with WebGUI! Thanks in advance for any help! --- (Edited on 2/23/2010 12:31 pm [GMT-0600] by daveday33) --- |

Comments and ratings are tied to applications inside of WebGUI. The application that you are probably thinking of is the collaboration system (forums) which allows people to rate and comment on other people's posts. In order to accomplish what you want you would not only need to tie existing items to threads of a collaboration system, but it's also likely you'll need to be able to add and remove threads on the fly. --- (Edited on 2/23/2010 4:31 pm [GMT-0600] by fdillon) --- |
