We've recently begun to use Thingy for some of our new projects. Overall we're pleased with the possibilities it provides. However there are several areas that need improvement such as searching (no support for advanced search, limited support for sorting) and reporting (there is 1 search results template which limits the reusability of the data collected into the db).
Our workaround for getting additional reports out of Thingy is to fall back on the trusty SQL Report asset. Because Thingy creates tablenames and fieldnames dynamically, it can be difficult to figure out how to create queries against it.
Our solution was to build a query which lists the fields in a Thingy along with the query needed to retrieve the values from the database. I've uploaded this as an Add-On. Let me know if you find it useful.
Is anyone else using Thingy? What's your impression?
