Hello. Due to mis-understanding/planning of urls, I'd like to change the url of my top level pages, and was hoping to be able to recursively change all the pages beneath them. Is there a way to do this? LN --- (Edited on 12/ 7/2006 7:01 pm [GMT-0600] by elnino) --- |

Nevermind - Plainblack has thought of everything already.. It's under editbranch in the asset manager. I
know I post a lot, and it was a rough start getting this going, but
this really is a pretty slick product. Thank you! I look forward to
using it on our live site. LN --- (Edited on 12/ 7/2006 7:04 pm [GMT-0600] by elnino) --- |

Please keep posting! I can't speak for the other developers, but I use posts to help determine things that need to be in the documentation. Also, a lot of people learn vicariously through reading other peoples posts. --- (Edited on 12/ 8/2006 10:37 am [GMT-0600] by colink) --- |

I've found that this feature will not work if you have an existing asset with that url which is in the Trash. You must purge it from the trash to reuse its url. --- (Edited on 12/11/2006 4:49 pm [GMT-0600] by knowmad) --- |

It's actually trickier than that. A url is reserved if it's been used in previous versions of an object too - so if you create something with the url /keyword and then rename it to /keyword2, you cannot then go and reuse /keyword until the previous versions have been purged completely. There's a scheduled workflow which does this, but it's set to do it every year by default (see Admin Console->Workflows->Weekly Maintenance Tasks->"delete asset revisions older than a year from the database" Until you do that, you won't be able to use that url again. - --- (Edited on 20-December-2006 3:34 pm [GMT+0800] by Jesse) --- |
