As stated the dev-list post about getting WebGUI to comply with Debian policy I want to try and use WebGUI in a debian manner. The first post I can find about webgui on debian.org is dated march 24th 2002 by Christian Surchi: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2002/03/msg00501.html Then there is one by Vince Mulhollon october 10th 2002: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2002/10/msg00175.html Who got a response from Marcelo E. Magallon three days later: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2002/10/msg00246.html Then three days later Vince has made progress: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2002/10/msg00319.html In 2003 there is no mention of WebGUI on the debian lists. In 2004 Mat Barry comes in with this post: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2004/10/msg00782.html And Vince replies in this post that he has no longer got interest in WebGUI and mentions twiki as an alternative for his purposes: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2004/10/msg00783.html Then september 2005 Mohammed Adnène Trojette wonders if Matt is still working on it: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2005/09/msg00493.html The latest posts I could find from Mat Barry are here the WebGUI 6 development process is going full speed at that time: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2005/09/msg00502.html In 2006 Micah Anderson warns about security issues that have to be fixed before WeGUI can enter into Debian: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2006/02/msg00695.html Exactly one year later the request for getting WebGUI into debian is closed automatically on the 24th of February 2007: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2007/02/msg00956.html Then march 19th 2008 Ernesto Hernandez-Novich re-requests WebGUI as a debian package: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2008/03/msg00657.html http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=471697 This request is being hounoured by putting the package into new on the 9th of may this year: http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2008/05/msg00418.html Then, July 10th Ernesto asks for a sponsor: http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl/2008/07/msg00058.html July 12th Gregor Herrmann responds to this request: http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl/2008/07/msg00064.html Latest post on this matter seems to be dated July 14th: http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl/2008/07/msg00085.html Koen de Jonge - ProcoliX --- (Edited on 26-July-2008 17:12 [GMT+0200] by koen) --- |

He Koen, Good work and good thread to start!
Apparently it's 129 days in preparation. In the post where he asks for a sponser he says it's in Sid, but have you found it? I couldn't find it here http://packages.debian.org/unstable/allpackages nor here http://packages.debian.org/testing/allpackages nor here http://packages.debian.org/stable/allpackages. Is it there under another name? I've emailed Ernesto to ask in what repository it can be found.

Ah, Koen, I see you've already found some repository containing a WebGUI 7.4 in this post of yours: http://www.webgui.org/webgui/dev/discuss/fixing-webgui-to-comply-with-debian-policy/9#idStxgwhfjRl8jbCTV6bZItg Kind regards, Arjan Widlak United Knowledge --- (Edited on 26-July-2008 22:54 [GMT+0200] by arjan) --- |
