It appears that search capabilities for this forum are not functioning at this time, so if this is a repeat question, please forgive me: I've been enjoying using the new HTML editors available in 6.6.5. However, they are starting to get in the way. They seem to be stripping CSS information from elements when using the HTML button in the Content Manager's Rich Edit editor to update content (possibly it's not updating the content at all). An interesting example is that if I change <td> to <th>, it will strip all <th>, </th> tags but leave the content that was in between them. This is becoming very annoying and unusable. Is there a way to fix this or disable the use of the rich editor? I only have two choices under Admin Console -> Settings -> UI: Content Manager's Rich Edit, and Forum Rich Edit. Am I maybe missing some settings? Thanks. --- (Edited on 8/16/2005 2:42 pm [GMT-0500] by pattieja2) --- |

You can effectively disable using the Rich Editor. Find the Rich Editor
Configuration page ( select Admin Console > select Assets; double
click Root then Import Node; select Content Managers Rich Editor)
and edit. At the bottom of the page, there are several radio
buttons, one is labeled "Ask user about using rich edit". Select Yes
and save the page. After that, when you try to edit a page, a popup
will ask about the rich editor and you can decline to use the html
editor. Unfortunately, you can't get rid of the popup. |

Thanks for the response. It seems to be working.
Interestingly enough, it does not prompt me whether to use the editor
or not (at least it hasn't yet). It just simply doesn't use it
anymore. |

Heh. I spoke too soon. The moment I clicked on the text area to start editing content, it prompted me whether to use the HTML editor or not. Oh well, clicking Cancel works for me. Thanks again. --- (Edited on 8/16/2005 3:17 pm [GMT-0500] by pattieja2) --- |

Another thing that the content editor removes are image maps. I wonder if the editor can handle them? |
