The last update irritates a bit, while it says to update from 7.8.13 instead of the expected (still actual) 7.8.14.
Looking at the script, it doesn't make a difference.

Does this also mean, that running future stable versions can switch to beta at any time?

7.8.13 is the correct branch point to upgrade to 7.9 for early adopters.  The second, and last, branch point will be something higher, like 7.8.33 or whatever.

Anyone who has not upgraded past 7.8.13 in the 7.8 branch can choose to upgrade to 7.9.0.

Is there something, that could have went wrong with my update from 7.8.14?

(btw: wiki could be deleted)

Definitely.

The upgrade script is programmed to look for particular versions, and sequences of versions.  It may not have run the upgrade script at all.

Another thing is trying to duplicate SQL work in the database.  If the work was done in 7.8.14, and redone in the 7.8.13 to 7.9.0 upgrade, then it will cause problems (most likely that the upgrade script would have died with a hard error).

If you've already upgraded to 7.8.14, we don't provide a way to upgrade over to 7.9.0 until the end of the 7.8 series.  It might be able to be done by hand, but I've never tried it.

Definitely.

I think I realized this, but beta-users should be warned, not to upgrade to "stable" in the moment a beta gets stable.

Since I've already updated from 7.8.14 to 7.9.0, I don't have a choice.

Looking at the upgrade-scripts, there were no problems.

Well, I was at 7.8.14, wanted to go to 7.9.0

so I compared the updatescripts, commented the subs in the 7.8.13-7.9.0 script that were already performed at going to 7.8.14 and that worked for me.
