Hey, guys, I would love to use webgui for my site...I'm not a programmer or designer, so it's hard for me to learn it (I tried, but it's beyond me). Anyone interested in helping me set it up for our site (so we can just move the content over from the existing site)? By set it up, I don't mean install it, we have a good webhost that does that part. I mean configure it with the right template etc. Work with me on putting in the new design, logo etc. Should be pretty easy for any of you guys who know Webgui. I can't pay much, but we have a very popular site and I will be sure to give you credit, link to you, whatever you need... The site is at http://tvmegasite.net and we currently use Frontpage. We run on volunteers only; no one gets paid as we can't afford it. Please email me at suzanne@tvmegasite.net if you're interested in helping out. Thanks!

Well, I'm sorry but I don't have the time to really design or template for you. But if you have difficulties with html or css, I can advise the tutorials on http://www.w3schools.com/ Further it is best to put some time in the use of macros and template variables. There are some styles coming with WebGUI so you can just copy a style and practise with those. Just look at al the <tmpl_var> and <tmpl_if> stuff and relate that to the help files that come with WebGUI. Those are not too hard and if you have questions, of course you can ask on the forum or IRC channel (#webgui). Most people there are quite skilled. I can advise you to read as much documentation about the subject before you ask. People don't mind to help, but do, if they have the feeling that they're actually making your template. Firebug is a good tool to solve html or css problems or in IE8 there is also a dev tool (which the website developers probably appreciate a lot, so for this tool thumbs up for MS (never thought I would say that)). I hope this helps and succes with your website |
