I am wondering if there is any Jquery built in to webgui. I'm in particular wondering if there is any "image rotator" plugin/api that could be exploited.
I can't help feeling that it's look will put people off using WebGUI, just by first impressions. Chris |

So are you saying you don't like the way it looks, you don't like the navigation, or both? JT Smith ph: 703-286-2525 x810 fx: 312-264-5382 http://www.plainblack.com/ Create like a god. Hi Chris, We haven't released a plugin but have used Jquery for photo slideshows on a couple of our sites:
As you'll see from the source, we're using the Cycle plugin which is quite powerful. We've also built a YUI slideshow which can be seen here:

Hi William
What I hoping to achieve is something like this, with a hook into the WebGUI API to get news articles out, with a related image. You've probably seen the like on many site, I've seen some good use of this type in some Wordpress blogs via a plugin they have. http://designm.ag/tutorials/image-rotator-css-jquery
"In one statement you say that it's "difficult to use" and in this I think the site looks "i.e the templates" a bit hokey/poorly designed. Particuarly some of them, that don't seem to fit, in. Sorry to be picky, but that's the impression you get on first seeing it - compare it with some other CMS type sites with their flashy sites - and maybe poorer application. Having the products site looking out of date / amateurish is a poor first impression - and that I feel counts for first visitors. Not that DEV my site looks great The navigation seems split all over the place, in different area. I know other CMS type things do this eg the php thing Joomla into different areas. However the seperation of Docs & Forums & Wikis for each makes it difficult to use (I don't think others seperate these out.). It means there's no central place to search for the answer. The old WebGUI style at least had all the forums on a page.

Nothing extra is needed. You could achieve this effect using the JQuery Cycle plugin in conjunction with an SQL report that you embed into the page. We are doing div rotation on one of our dev sites (sorry, no url available). We can help you develop a solution like this. Contact me off-list if you'd like to talk further.
