SQLReport Asset Rank (#3457)

Issue

When attempting to change the asset rank of an SQL Report asset, the rank change does take place in the asset tree (the number is changed) but in the actual rendering of the page / creation of the HTML, the asset remains in the same place.

When I change the rank of a snippet, the expected behavior takes place (the rendered result/code is moved up or down in the page). This (possible) bug seems to only affect SQL Report assets.

I've tested this by taking the template source code generated, modifiying it in an external editor (manually moving the SQL Report template generated code), moving it to the position the new asset rank signifies -- which produces the desired effect.

Here's a bit of context: We had a HTML snippet to generate a div w/ some content statically. My idea was to use a SQLReport to dynamically generate the content of the div as opposed to the static snippet. After creating the SQLReport that generates the same code as the older snippet, I wanted to basically swap the snippet with the new SQL Report -- so essentially nothing should change in the rendering of the page. But for some reason, the generated div is appearing in the wrong position.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

As a default, the Page uses Asset Rank for the order for Assets in a given location on the page. However, once anything has been placed using the drag interface, then it is fixed, and Asset Rank is ignored.

I was able to duplicate what you're seeing. If I add a SQL Report, and move it on the front page, it will move AND change rank once. After that, only the page position will change.

Similarly with Asset Rank. If you change rank, it will change the order on the page until ANY asset on the page is dragged. Then it doesn't matter anymore.

Closing as not a bug.
