Does anyone have experience renaming sites like in: this.website.net into that.website.net ? both sites arew running on the same server.
The wiki does not bring up any hits and I am afraid to overlook the obvious. Looking forward to your reactions, Regards, TheSeparator |

I don't understand what you mean. If you want to change the url that the WebGUI instance listens too it's enough to change the ServerName in this.website.net.modproxy and this.website.net.modperl to that.website.net You probably also want to change the webgui.conf file that goes with that site. If you want to change the name of the instance too I would recommend using the wre's ./addsite.pl script to create a whole new WebGUI instance and then import the databasedump and domains directory into that new instance. Is that what you mean? Koen de Jonge - ProcoliX |

I would like to retire this.website.net but keep it accessible as an archive via that.website.net. A brand new site will be created as this.website.net. Meanwhile I have done so, basically in a similar way as you described in the first part of your post. In the support forum ( ticket 10559 ) I have uploaded a document with the steps I have taken. I will probably perform this activity more often in the future and would like to make sure that the process is solid. Regards, TheSeparator

I want to do much the same thing, however, I cannot find the "support forum ( ticket 10559 )" reference you gave to look at your document.
Thanks, Otto |

Hi Otto, The support forum where I posted my steps is on plainblack.com. Currently the document is being reviewed by Plainblack Support as there may be multiple roads leading to Rome and I would like to be certain that my track is solid and safe. Regards, TheSeparator

Hallo Otto, Attached a PDF with the rough guidelines I used. Please be advised that these are my own experiences and they come without guarantees. Plainblack never confirmed they were entirely correct. Use them with common sense, good luck.
